Description
“Ketukuba is an invitation to dance…” This is what the liner notes say, and for once it’s TRUE!
I’ve heard some of Africando’s other CD’s but for me, this is the best. I can listen to it, over and over
again. I understand very little of the lyrics, but I do understand I want to dance when I hear it.
Songs from this CD are often played at local salsa clubs. It’s slightly on the old school side,
with plenty of great congas, percussion and horns and lots of call and response vocals. It’s also
very polyrhythmic…but unlike some of the currently ‘popular’ bands, the rhythms are strong and steady,
so you can dance well to it, instead of scratching your head and thinking, which rhythm do I dance to??
If you like to dance salsa, put this on your repeat often list. Mt. aka Marko Mambo Loco
