Description
I’ve read articles, commentary and heard people accuse Robert Nesta Marley of going soft on KAYA as it’s easily the most laid back and relaxed LP in his vast and magnificent catalog. By the time of it’s recording, in 1977 during the sessions that produced the Masterpiece EXODUS, he and the new incarnation of The Wailers had hit their creative stride. Much controversy surrounded this album for several reasons not the least of which was it’s title and people initially thought these were “leftover” songs form EXODUS. Nothing could be further from the truth, this is an album where we found Bob in a relaxed state, perhaps for the first time in his life and these songs reflect that.
