This performer, Chavela Vargas, is still performing at 90 or near there. While still a great performer, the voice has weakened with time. That is what makes this CD so good. It was produced much earlier in her career, so you can appreciate the voice. More than most singers, Chavela makes you believe, because she believes. Even if you do not speak Spanish, you should own this. If you do speak Spanish, she will move you. She makes current singers seem tame.
